2014 is a very special year because it is the 50th Anniversary of Lamborghini. To celebrate the occasion, the company has produced a limited run of “50th Anniversary” Aventador models. Just 200 cars are to be produced – 100 coupes and 100 roadsters. This particular car is #47 of 100.
The Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario edition has the same 6.5L V12 engine as the standard Aventador, though power has been bumped up from 690 to 710 HP thanks to a new engine calibration.
The body has an exclusive yellow paint color and is adorned with two-tone front and rear sills, a larger front air intake and splitter, and a new rear end with a bigger diffuser.
Other touches include semi-aniline leather upholstery with special stitching and a 50th Anniversary emblem made of carbon-composite material.
The price for all of this fanfare is an eye-popping $548,000 – a whopping $106,300 over the Aventador Roadster! Is the extra 20 horsepower and some special stitching really worth $106,000 extra? The short answer is: no. But being that this is a 50th Anniversary edition, these cars are destined to become collectible and will be sought-after by hardcore Lamborghini enthusiasts for decades to come.
