The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2009 auction was a very special one. This was the year in which General Motors filed for bankruptcy and emerged as the “New GM.” During that time, a cash-strapped GM decided to sell off a large number of vehicles from their “Heritage Collection.”
The GM Heritage Collection offered a number of custom, one-off, concept, pre-production, and race vehicles for sale. Not all of the vehicles from the auction appear below, but I did get pictures of the 1960 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight 4-Door Hardtop, 1984 Pontiac Fiero 2+2 Concept, a 1993 GMC Typhoon, the ’95 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Led Sled, the ’95 Monte Carlo Pro Street car, the 1999 Cadillac “EldoRod” chop-top ElDorado, the Corvette C5R Show Car, the Chevrolet Cavalier A/FX 425 Drag Car, the 2000 Tahoe K5 Blazer Concept, the Cadillac CTS Sport Concept from SEMA, the Saturn LOLA Race Car, and last and definitely least, the unfortunately named Geo Metro Zonker concept car.
Besides all that, I also saw some very high-end exotic cars including a Koenigsegg CCX, a Gumpert Apollo, and an Ultima Can-Am! Wow!
