The editors here at Generation: High Output are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada this fall.
For the automotive aftermarket industry, this is the biggest event of the year. This massive trade show packs the Las Vegas Convention Center with over 2,000 exhibitors, 60,000 attendees, and of course, hundreds upon hundreds of customized cars, trucks, and other vehicles.
So what can you expect to see at this year’s show? For business owners, there is a full schedule of both free and paid workshops and seminars about various topics in the automotive industry. These include industry trends, business management, customer service, and Internet marketing.
Another event to look forward to is the SEMA Mustang Build Powered by Women. This exhibit will feature a customized 2013 Ford Mustang GT based on a contest-winning design concept from a Ford employee which was built by an all-female team of professional car builders. The completed car will be unveiled at the show.
Then there are the usual show events such as the New Products Pavilion, where manufacturers showcase their latest creations. We are looking forward to seeing what exciting new products are coming out from the biggest names in the aftermarket industry. Check the Central Hall for big displays from Ford, Scion, Hyundai, General Motors, and more.
The show floor will also feature sections dedicated to car restoration products, hot rod products, truck and off-road accessories, as well as a powersports pavilion for checking out items like ATVs and more.
There’s also the annual SEMA Pinewood Drag Races, a charity event that features pinewood derby car racing in three different classes. Proceeds from this event go to ChildHelp and Victory Junction, both of which are charities that help children.
SEMA 2012 will also feature a host of celebrity appearances. Look for big names such as Chip Foose from Overhaulin’ and Jessi Combs from Spike TV’s Xtreme 4×4. Also keep your eyes open for X-Games gold medalist TJ Lavin, Ryan Friedlinghaus (owner and founder of West Coast Customs), and Barry Meguiar (president of Meguiar’s).
The SEMA 2012 show starts October 30th and runs through November 2nd, 2012. Be sure to check back this fall for our coverage from the show!
