GoodGuys 20th Southwest Nationals


For 20 years, the GoodGuys Rod & Custom Association has been bringing the excitement to Arizona. The Southwest Nationals is a huge 3-day event featuring a car show, autocross competition, swap meet, exhibitor displays, great food and live music, and so much more! We were fortunate enough to attend the 2017 event. Check out the video for some of the highlights of this year’s show!

SEMA 2015: 1940 Mercury Sport Coupe by Rob Ida Concepts

1940-mercury-coupe-frontThere are car builders, and then there are master artisans who work in the medium of steel. The guys at Rob Ida Concepts in Morganville, New Jersey definitely fall into the second group.

At SEMA 2015, they unveiled their latest creation: a wildly customized 1940 Mercury Business Coupe. This car and its skirted front and rear wheels are designed to give it a flowing, Art Deco-inspired look that is very streamlined and modern. The car’s roofline, wheel skirts, and just about every other panel is made from hand-formed steel. This is not merely another chop top ‘Merc, this one is all custom! Continue reading

2015 GoodGuys Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale

goodguys-2015Although the GoodGuys Southwest Nationals was celebrating its 18th year in Scottsdale, this was my first time ever attending the three-day event. The show was held at  WestWorld, the same venue that hosts the famous Barrett-Jackson auction every year in January. With so many classic cars in one place, it was easy to draw parallels between the two events.

However, GoodGuys is not an auction – nor is it “just a car show.” It has a car show, autocross event, swap meet, vendor exhibits, model and pedal car show, and much more!
