US Postal Service Introduces Muscle Car Stamps

The United States Postal Service has recently introduced a new series of Forever stamps called Muscle Cars. The series features five different vehicles: the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, the 1966 Pontiac GTO, the 1967 Shelby GT-500, the 1970 Chevelle SS, and the 1970 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda.

These five vehicles are icons of what we like to call the “High Output Generation.” These cars were produced at a special time in American history, a time that was unmarred by gas prices, federal emissions laws, or global recessions. All that mattered was power, and these Muscle Cars had tons of it!

Firebird, Speedworld Dragstrips to Close Down

If you follow us on Twitter, you may have seen the article that was posted last week about Speedworld Motorplex closing its doors. The multi-use facility was one of two quarter-mile drag strips in the Phoenix area and also featured a motocross course, BMX track, paintball park, and a sand drag/mud bog course.

Now, I have received news that Phoenix’s other dragstrip at Firebird Raceway in Chandler will also be closing in March 2013. The track owners cite the end of their contract with the Gila River Indian Community as the reason for the closure.

Scottsdale Int’l Auto Museum Opens Second Location at Metrocenter Mall


The Scottsdale International Auto Museum made headlines when they opened up shop in the Scottsdale Pavilions shopping center in 2011. Now the museum has just opened its second location inside Metrocenter Mall in Phoenix!
