Save the Date: Arizona Concours returns January 18, 2026

Scottsdale hosts prestigious collector car and motorcycle event

The world’s most interesting and exciting automobiles are often referred to as Sculpture in Motion, their kinetic beauty expressing the joy and excitement of motoring.

Sculpture in Motion is the theme of the next Arizona Concours d’Elegance, a premiere celebration of superb vehicles from the past and present, scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026, on the parklike lawns of the Scottsdale Civic Center.

A professionally judged and curated assembly of 100 rarely seen dream cars and high-value collector vehicles, the Arizona Concours is presented in partnership with Scottsdale Arts, the organization responsible for an array of artistic services in the city.

The 8th edition of the Concours will display exceptional vehicles from around the world, guaranteed to impress and excite not only dedicated car lovers but anyone who appreciates the beauty of expressive design, enjoyed in the atmosphere of a stylish garden party.

Ed Winkler, who serves as co-chairman of the Arizona Concours, along with Chuck Stanford Jr., said, “2026 is shaping up to be a great year for the Arizona Concours.

“Once again, the Concours will be an upscale lifestyle event featuring rare and fascinating vehicles arrayed on the grass, with entrants and spectators, some in period costumes, strolling the lawns under the sparkling-blue Arizona sky.”

The Arizona Concours committee has designated 15 judged classes for 2026, including special classes that range from the 140th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz, the event’s featured marque, to a class for dune buggies and beach cruisers.

Other classes include a celebration of 125 years of Indian motorcycles, mid-century station wagons, post-war European sports/racing cars, and exotic supercars from 2000 through 2025.

Awards are presented in each class, along with a variety of special awards and the two coveted Best of Show trophies – one for pre-World War II and one for post-war. There is also an award for favorite costume.

Stanford, a longtime Mercedes-Benz enthusiast, noted that 2026 is a significant year for the esteemed German car company.

“As the company that invented the automobile, Mercedes-Benz has always been at the forefront of automotive engineering and has presented the world with extraordinary examples of voluptuous design and fierce competitiveness,” Stanford said. “I’m certain that a wide variety of Mercedes-Benz style and heritage will be on display come January in Scottsdale.”

Proceeds from the Arizona Concours benefit local artists and art programs, as well as the Concours’s longtime beneficiary, Make-A-Wish® Arizona, the founding chapter of the national organization that grants wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions.

The Arizona Concours not only raises money for Make-A-Wish but gets some of the children involved in judging the cars and awarding a specially designed trophy to their favorite.

Tickets for the Arizona Concours d’Elegance at the Scottsdale Civic Center will be available starting August 1. For information about tickets, vehicle submissions and sponsorships, visit the Concours website at ArizonaConcours.org.

2023 Arizona Concours d’Elegance Celebrates the Art of Aerodynamics

The Arizona Concours d’Elegance is back, returning as the highlight of Arizona Car Week in January 2023. The theme for the 2023 Concours is “The Art of Aerodynamics.” Such famed classic brands as Bugatti, Duesenberg and Pierce-Arrow will be joined by vehicles ranging from early 20th Century horseless-carriages to the latest in exotic supercars.

Some of the cars participating in the show include include:

1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Light Metal Body

Just 24 aluminum-bodied Gullwing coupes were produced for 1955, and they are the ultimate production versions of the iconic sports cars, and by far the most valuable.

Inaugural Concours d’Elegance Coming to Las Vegas

Nevada has a reputation for many things: casino gambling, entertainment, and tourism. But it’s also becoming a hotspot for the collector car world.

Barrett-Jackson has hosted a collector car auction in Las Vegas every year since 2008. The next auction is coming up October 3-5, 2019 at Mandalay Bay. Now in it’s 11th year, the Las Vegas auction features plenty of classic American and European cars to add to your collection.

Auction events like Barrett-Jackson are all about excitement and suspense, which is great fun. But what if you want a more relaxed, formal atmosphere to enjoy fine motorcars? Coming this October, collector car enthusiasts will get their chance at the inaugural Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance.

The Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance is not just a simple car show, it is a luxury lifestyle event.

Event founder Stuart Sobek is a collector car enthusiast and seasoned veteran of Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance for more than 30 years. According to an interview with Stuart on the Cars Yeah Podcast, his goal was to bring the prestige and excitement of the Concours environment to Las Vegas, and make it a world-class event.

The whole thing kicks off on October 25, 2019 with a dinner featuring cuisine presented by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

The following day is the Concours event on Saturday, October 26th, held on the green at the Dragon Ridge Country Club in Henderson, NV. Approximately 200 vehicles are scheduled to appear as part of the show. Check out the Las Vegas Concours on Facebook and Instagram for teaser pics of some of the cars that have already been confirmed to appear.

On Sunday morning, there is an amazing opportunity to see cars from the Concours in motion as they cruise down the Las Vegas Strip with a police escort for the inaugural Tour d’Elegance event. These classic vehicles motoring down one of the most famous roads in America should make for a very memorable sight!

And for those fortunate enough to stick around until Monday, it’s back to Dragon Ridge for a charity golf tournament – with a $500 entry fee – with proceeds benefiting the LVCE/ArtCenter Scholarship Fund.

This event has attracted some pretty big attention, with sponsors including Bellagio, Mercedes-Benz of Henderson, as well as the Petersen Automotive Museum, the Mullin Auto Museum, and the National Automobile Museum in Reno.

If you are interested in attending the Las Vegas Concours d’Elegance, tickets may be purchased online at www.lasvegasconcours.com. Be sure to check back in November for our coverage of the event!

Videos from Monterey Car Week 2017

For one amazing week in August, California’s central coast swells with excitement as thousands of automotive enthusiasts migrate towards Monterey from all corners of the globe. Monterey Car Week, as it has come to be known, is a collection of events that celebrate car culture. From a vintage road rally to vintage racing at Laguna Seca, to the latest in high-tech hypercars and the glamour of preservation, there’s nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world.

In August 2017, Generation High Output was in Monterey to attend three big car show events. The first one, Exotics on Cannery Row, was focused on modern supercars and featured the largest gathering of Koenigsegg vehicles in North America. The following day, we visited the Concours d’Lemons in Seaside, which is a delightful, tongue-in-cheek event that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Finally, we attended the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which featured an incredible 70th Anniversary celebration of Ferrari automobiles.

We made these videos to bring the experience of Monterey Car Week to you. We hope you enjoy them!

Report: Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance 2016

pebblebeach2016-01There is a cool breeze in the air and the sky is filled from horizon to horizon with grey clouds. It is Sunday, August 21st and I am standing on the 18th hole of Pebble Beach Golf Links – the greatest public golf course in America and one of the most famous in the world.

With each step, my shoes compress the neatly manicured grass – each blade perfectly uniform in color and length. But today, there are no putters and the only drivers are the owners of the 220 collectible vehicles parked on the fairway. I am at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – one of the most prestigious car shows in the world.

The Legacy Begins
From the first event in 1950, the Pebble Beach Concours has blossomed from a small gathering into a major event featuring the world’s finest collector vehicles. It is the cornerstone of Monterey Car Week, which includes a number of car shows, road rallies, auctions, and events in the same area. If you attend one event in Monterey, it should be this one.

Inaugural Arizona Concours d’Elegance Exceeds Expectations

Concours d’Elegance is a French expression that means competition of elegance, and is most often used in relation to automobiles. A concours is essentially a beauty pageant for rare and elegant cars.

There are several examples of these shows in America. The largest and most well-known is the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in Monterey, which has been held annually since 1950. A similar show has been held at Amelia Island in Florida since 1971.

Recently, a Concours d’Elegance show was held in Arizona for the very first time. On Sunday, January 12th, 2014, about 2,000 people gathered at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix for this inaugural event. The resort, which opened in 1929, is known for its unique architecture and luxurious accommodations and has hosted every U.S. President since Herbert Hoover.
