There was a lot of buzz at this year’s SEMA show about the new 2014 C7 Corvette. We met up with Jason Haines from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering to hear about some of the different packages they are working on for this car.
The team at LPE have not yet released the official numbers for their C7 Corvette performance kits. The car at their booth is a prototype, but it’s probably pretty close to what the final package will look like.
Tomorrow, it’s companion, the Bad Lightning, will be posted. For today at least, you get to view a beautiful example of Ford’s second-generation sport truck whose only automotive crime is a set of vinyl stripes that are a tad Chevy-esque in their design. Easy enough to remove though.
Take a look at the little details: The stock sportside non-lightning tail lamps, the tasteful wheels and the handsome stance. This truck is a great example of subtle modifications that don’t take away from the original design.

This has got to be one of the rarest Corvettes around. According to my research, there are only either 2 or 3 of these cars in existence, depending on who you ask. This particular Corvette is on display at the Mel Martin Auto Museum in North Phoenix. It is owned by Mel’s son.
There isn’t much information on the internet about these cars, but according to the sheet of paper that was displayed near the car, its got a Vortech supercharged 383 stroker LT1 putting out 500hp and 454lb-ft of torque. The brakes have been upgraded to Brembo units, the wheels are 17 inches (this was 1992, remember) and it cost $80,000 when new. The modifications were performed by Lister Cars in England.
