I spotted this out in Scottsdale a few weeks ago. At first, I thought it was an XP8, which was the only Saleen Explorer I knew about. When I made it to the rear of the vehicle, I noticed it said “XP6” on it.

The story is basically that Saleen accidentally got a shipment of V6 Explorers into their shop, and rather than send them back, ended up giving them the Saleen visual treatment. Ricing them up, essentially. Whereas the XP8 could be had with a supercharged 5.0, this version was limited to the stock 4.0 six.

While it isn’t going to win many races, it more than makes up for that with its rarity. There are believed to be only ten XP6’s in existence, and some guy apparently drove one here from Minnesota. I think that’s pretty cool.
