No, it’s not broken down or trying to summon help. The hood is raised on this 1974 Buick LeSabre sedan because it’s actually participating in a car show. Yes, really.
I spotted this land yacht at a local cruise-in in Glendale, Arizona. The car’s enormous size piqued my curiosity and drew me in for a closer look.
First off I must apologize for not dragging my camera along with me, I was only able to click off a couple cell phone shots.
If you know anything about these convertible Ferrari’s than you know that there was officially only one Spider. With that kind of exclusivity I’m sure the official car is stored away in a European museum somewhere for no one to see or drive. Which leads me to believe that this car must have been a conversion, likely from an independent coachbuiler, possibly Pininfarina (known best for setting the automotive world on fire with the game changing Cadillac Allante). I am trying really hard to rationalize why a person would do this to their own car. The best I can come up with is that someone accidentally ruined their paint by driving through fresh asphalt the same week they started up a DeviantArt account.
Get this, long before Tesla’s were rolling down the assembly line that very same facility was cranking out Chevy trucks.. This particular 1980 C30 was also produced there, for the US government. There are some interesting things about it though I’m not sure which modifications were added after the government took possession. Continue reading
France is famous for a lot of things: fine wine, exquisite art, and cities of great culture and history like Paris, Marseille, and Bordeaux. But when it comes to cars, Italy is definitely the European country in the spotlight.
Still, that doesn’t mean French cars aren’t worth a look. This 1937 Citroen Traction Avant was a highly advanced car for its day, and has more in common with a modern car than you might think. Continue reading
